Wow! I don't know where to begin. Is it possible to like and dislike a book at the same time? I will admit that I skimmed many parts of this book - when it became too political or was too much "lord of the rings" (I have a hard time with books like that). There were many times especially at the beginning when I told my husband "I don't think I can finish this book" but I stuck it out. I will say the meat of Elphada's story was just riveting and I couldn't stop reading. You really felt for her and her plight. It did remind me a little of "V for Vendetta". I will say though that I will never watch Wizard of Oz the same way again - LOL!
