An enjoyable and balanced mix of historical and romance. The early 1900s is a fascinating period for womens' issues, societal restrictions and the like. I really appreciated that the important people in Hattie's life were supportive and loving to her, especially when society wasn't. A solid first historical romance from Anderson; I gobbled it up. 4 stars.
