Have you ever wondered what secrets lurk behind the closed doors of New York City's wealthiest families? They're powerful, they're famous... they're undead. Schuyler Van Alen's blood legacy has just been called into question--is the young vampire in fact a Blue Blood, or is it the sinister Silver Blood that runs through her veins? As controversy swirls, Schuyler is left stranded in the Force household, trapped under the same roof as her cunning nemesis, Mimi Force, and her forbidden crush, Jack Force. When one of the Gates of Hell is breached by Silver Bloods in Rio de Janeiro, however, the Blue Bloods will need Schuyler on their side. The stakes are high; the battle is bloody; and through it all, Carnavale rages on. And in the end, one vampire's secret identity will be exposed in a revelation that shocks everyone.
MY NOTES:
SPOILER ALERT!! DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THIS BOOK YET!!!
Revelations is the third book in the Blue Bloods series by Melissa De La Cruz. A darker, more gripping plot suffuses this book with more action and suspense than the other two in the series, not to mention the deepening of relationships and betrayals in the world of blue bloods.
Schuyler Van Alen has been uprooted from her home when she was adopted by Charles Force. Now, she has been "forced" (sorry, bad pun) into living at the Force's Manhattan brownstone where her crush, Jack Force, and her rival, Mimi Force, live. But Jack seems to ignore her even worse than before, and Mimi only acknowledges Schuyler to criticize her.
One day, Schuyler finds a book stuck under her door, with a hotel key stuck inside. She knows it is from Jack and decides to meet him there. She continues to secretly meet with him even though they both know that Mimi is planning her and Jack's bonding ceremony. Jack tells Schuyler that for once, he might defy the eternal tradition of bonding with Mimi, because Jack says that over the centuries, he's always felt that something was missing (and that that something was Schuyler).
Schuyler decides to make Oliver her familiar, even though he is her Conduit, and it is illegal to drink your Conduit's blood. The first time Schuyler tries to make Oliver her familiar, she kisses him, but he bails out on her because he says that it is not right. However, he come to change his mind when he sees that she is getting weaker and weaker. When Schuyler drank Oliver's blood, she glimpsed every though and memory he had ever had, and she discovered that Oliver loved her. Now their friendship was ruined, because when you make someone your familiar, they can never love another person romantically for the rest of their life.
After Bliss sees Dylan again, she chooses not to tell anyone, because she is afraid that he might be a Silver-Blood and she does not want the Committee to take him away from her. When Dylan, by chance, sees Schuyler, he starts to attack her and calls them both Silver-Bloods. She fearfully turns Dylan over to a rehabilitation center for blue bloods, even though she is still not sure if he was the one who murdered Aggie and been turned into a Silver-Blood. Bliss is still having blackouts, but now she always sees a man in a white suit, but doesn't know who he is.
Mimi joins the Conclave, a board of blue bloods that helps vampires world-wide with the Silver-Blood attacks. Lawrence Van Alen was elected head chairman, stealing the spot from Charles Force (this happened in Masquerade). Kingsley turns out to be a suspicious character from a traditionally Silver-Blood family that renounced it's ways of evil.
Bliss's little sister, Jordan, is also acting suspiciously. Jordan was always treated condescendingly by her mother and father, then Bliss discovers that Jordan was shoved into their family, that it was not a choice that they made willingly.
Schuyler, Bliss, and Oliver fly to Rio, where the Conclave meeting is being held. When they get to the hotel, they discover that everything seems fine, that the feeling that something bad was going to happen was gone when they saw Lawrence safe. In fact, Lawrence was going to a party for the Conclave.
At the party, Mimi witnesses a horrible scene. The family that was hosting turned out to be on the Silver-Bloods side, and they were murdering the Conclave by the masses. It turns out that Mimi's suspicions about Kingsley were false, that he was not a traitor as she thought.
Meanwhile, a giant force is stirring. It turns out that in Rio de Janeiro , under Christ the Redeemer's statue, a Silver-Blood called Leviathan is attempting to break out of his prison. Lawrence, Oliver, Schuyler, and Bliss try to stop a Silver-Blood. Schuyler takes her sword and tries to stab it, but misses. Lawrence kills it, but ends up getting killed himself. The Silver-Blood that is killed turns out to be Dylan, but it was an illusion to get Dylan killed. He was only being controlled by Silver-Bloods. The real Silver-Blood turns out to be Bliss, and she was the one that killed Aggie and the Conclave and set their house on fire, and much more, which is why she was getting black-outs. She thinks that the man in the white-suit is probably Lucifer, telling her what to do
