This is a quick little read from the perspective of Harry Dresden's half brother, Thomas Raith, a White Court vampire with a demon inside. So how does Thomas see Harry's life? He views himself as a protector, particularly when Dresden's life is threatened from his evil sister and an old god. Dresden, who plunges blindly into many a dangerous situation is about do so again unknowingly to his peril.
Old gods who are not to be remembered may be awakened in spite of the Oblivion War to make people forget them. Who are the Venatori? It all puts Harry in danger as he rushes to help someone who is not as she appears. It's up to Thomas to warn Harry while shielding him from Thomas's role in the White Court.
This is a fast paced tale that packs a wallop and gives Dresden fans an long look at Thomas and the relationship between the two brothers. And, Thomas needs to keep Harry oblivious to what is happening. Fun, fun read.
