Book 5 in the Aurora Teagarden series is my least favorite so far. In book 5, Roe is married to Martin, living at the Julius House and working part-time as a librarian when the remains of Jack Burns, one of the Lawrenceton police department's finest catapults into her flower bed one beautiful sunny morning. Roe's friend and bodyguard, the long-legged, bikini-clad Angel Youngblood, is mowing the grass and Roe is reclining on a lounger when a small red-and-white plane flies low overhead and drops its unlikely debris more or less at Roe's feet.
Martin Bartell, immediately wonders if the killer chose his dumping place to send some kind of message to Roe, but Roe begins to think it's a message for Angel. The mystery deepens when two federal agents arrive in town to investigate the murder.
This became my least favorite book for a few reasons. 1.Arthur, who I've liked up until now becomes a total jerk. 2. Arthur and Lynn are split up- um hello- again when did that happen??? I like the stories of the murder, but I really like the characters and I'm feeling way to left out. Like there should be books or cliffs notes in between to tell me whats happened! 3.I don't like Angel. There's something weird about her, but Harris never goes into what. And even as the book ended I'm still sitting here thinking there was more to it. Was Angel preggers with Jack's baby? I just feel like this story never really came together and the murdered came out of nowhere. 4. I'm starting to dislike Martin. I liked Arthur much better. And where the heck is Robin? he just came and went. Harris has been really good about all of the characters but now- nada.
