Unlike the first Nightside book, this volume takes place soley in The Nightside and I preferred that, especially since the author didn't have to reference the location as often as in the first story. I like the main character John Taylor, his strengths and weaknesses, and the no-nonsense intelligent way he deals with others. Author Simon Green weaves his story well, creating many interesting characters and settings and impelling the reader to continue turning page after page to discover successive clues until the final satisfying resolution.
