Excellent Regency era romance. Emma Jensen doesn't focus too much on the Regency aspect of the book, but just a beautiful, seductive love story. Hero with secrets and scars, heroine who sees herself as not beautiful. Convincing development of their love story, sweet moments and real intensity between the couple.
The heroine, a woman described as plain and "not a beauty", has a lot of spunk and personality. I like how she treats the hero from the start and never loses that part of herself. He has complicated issues including war injuries and their combined emotional walls and self-doubt lead to a sensual and well paced love story.
The love scenes are relatively lukewarm, not lengthy or detailed but enough to give you a warm face.
