This is my second reading of this series; Jodi Thomas just isn't writing them fast enough. The characters are quirky and charming, with lots of depth.

We meet Gabe Leary in an odd way. Reagan Truman has been substituting for her friend Edith (from the Blue Moon Diner). One of her jobs is to pack a take-out dinner for a unusual man, who meets Reagan behind the diner on Wednesday evenings.

When Reagan meets with an accident, isolationist Gabe Leary saves her and he becomes the town's most reluctant hero. Gabe has an incredible back story. Before Reagan and Edith, the only citizen he'd interacted with was Elizabeth Matheson, a brand new lawyer.

The town and the events are so realistic that it is hard to imagine that this is fiction. Pick up a copy today -- but be sure to start with book one, WELCOME TO HARMONY.
