This is the story about King Lear (Shakespeare) done in more of a comedy instead of a tragedy. It's main character is Lear's fool. In this book we find a quick witted fool, a mad king, perturbed princesses, rhyming ghosts and witches, shagging and a lot of bawdy fun. Even though I've not read about King Lear before, it didn't take anything from the story. I still enjoyed it! The book was fast paced and the characters were wonderfully done. My favorite characters would have to be Pocket, the fool and Drool, his apprentice. The was my first Christopher Moore book and I look forward to reading more in the near future!
