This is a fast paced story with many twists and turns that hold your interest. 1st to Die has both thrilling twists and a little love story. In this book Patterson takes on the narrative perspective of a woman to create a page-turning opening to The Woman's Murder Club. I thought the plot of the book kept it interesting and hard to put down. Another aspect of the book that made it worth reading was the clear character descriptions. As well as describing characters vividly, James Patterson throws in many strong details. I had a difficult time putting it down. Lindsay Boxer is a wonderful character. Her detective skills are also impressive. I love how the "Women's Murder Club" developes and grows. The relationships between the women are honest and endearing - the kind of women you'd want as your friends. The murders are twisted and the plot moves along quickly. I love the twists that the story takes and the ending was a bit of a surprise.
