The only reason this book worked at all for me is Kleypas's writing and her characters. I loved both Poppy and Henry and I wanted them to be together. I didn't like how they went about it. Kleypas managed to keep me reading instead of throwing down the book in disgust during several scenes by making Harry's motives very clear and I found myself feeling sorry for him. However, when it comes to bad guy/hero books I'll stick with The Devil in Winter. I'm very much looking forward to the remaining books in this series.
