This was a very fast and enjoyable read. However, I was not as impressed by it as I remember being by Blume's young adults books as a young adult. Those challenged the reader (many of them were banned), while Summer Sisters doesn't stand out.
Perhaps my expectations for this author were too high as she tried to reach new audiences.
