I was "forced" to read this book because my book club was doing it, but I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not a huge Albom fan, but I think this is his best. I really enjoyed getting to know the main characters. And, there were many profound statements in the book. I found myself underlining passages like crazy. Henry was definitely my favorite character - I think everyone could learn a lot from him.

Two things I didn't like: the ending, and Mitch Albom himself. To me, he came across as self-righteous. I'm sure that wasn't his intention, but it got under my skin. Who is he to do the euology of some prominent Jewish rabbi? Well, that's the point of the whole book, I'm sure, but still...
