Another exciting addition to the FBI: Houston series! The unsolved murders of two unrelated people has Special Agents Thatcher Graves and Bethany Sanchez stumped. The situation gets even more complicated with additional murders, and Bethany suspects her brother is involved somehow. Will she protect her family over her partner?
Wow, this author sure writes a suspenseful crime drama, slowly circling the suspects, leaving you guessing clear up until the action packed ending! I could feel the tension between the two agents, and the dilemma Bethany was in with her dysfunctional family. It was frustrating at times to witness, but as the clues started to stack up, and the situation got hotter, the agents' faith and integrity pull them through to find the answers, leaving you with a satisfying ending. The psychological profiles and certain aspects of the crimes made the whole story feel quite authentic; a lot of research into actual crimes and procedures must have been done to make it feel so real. Enjoyed the funny pet parrot that added a little needed levity at times, saying things like, "Call the cops!"
A few people from the previous books were dropped in at times, nicely tying the series together; this one easily stands alone though. Recommend to fans of Christian suspense with a little romance.
