Quick read, characters well developed--maybe a little larger than life. Nice mystery that plays along well with the story line. After being declared dead, Alex comes home to his family living and working in a remote area of Maine where they operate a logging business. He finds while he was away his family had wed him by proxy to their new housekeeper so they could maintain custody of his two children. Then ensues the romantic struggle, laced with mutual attraction they at first want to deny, her funny attempts to learn to drive, his wanting to read aloud to her sexy scenes from romantic novels, and strange incidents of vandalism and strangers on the land. This was the first book by Janet Chapman that I've read. I found it a nice companion while being kept in during a cold winter afternoon.
