I really was anxious to read this book after "Love Story". I wanted to know what happened to Oliver after Jenny's death. In the end I just felt sorry for Oliver. Poor Oliver is heartbroken. He is probably the most ethical lawyer ever existed in fiction. Also, I feel the desire to check to see where products are made before purchasing due to Oliver's morality. This novel, even though it was not the main part of the plot, brought to light the appalling use of child labor and sweatshops to bring American wealth. Oliver, who's family gained their wealth from hard working and underpaid immigrants, feels an obligation to put his foot down when it comes to using children and third world workers.
