Maybe it's because of the small town I grew up in ...

but I SMILE A LOT everytime I think about this book. The author writes a wonderful, romantic story about two individuals who were good friends as kids, high school sweethearts, and then engaged during college.

At the end of college Kate has much bigger dreams than being married. She leaves without hardly a thought for Rob, her family, or anyone.

Moving to the big city, she sets her sight on a political career. A scandal sends her back home. Will she be welcomed?

In the meantime, Rob has fallen deeply in love with another woman. He marries and they have an adorable little girl. When Kate returns home, she learns that Rob's life has changed.

Sure, he was once in love with Kate...but that was a long time ago. Age has not reduced her beauty or made her less desirable.

Author Perrine weaves a beautiful story that is full of depth and strong characters. I really, really liked this book!
