To put it in the simplest of terms, Danny Starrett was/is as crazy as anyone could be. He seems to have fooled his family, and his friends for many years, but how could they be so stupid? C'mon! The kid was weird, and so was the man. When you read of his several childhood head injuries, his odd obsessions, not to mention the strange behavior his wife confided to his mother, you begin to get the picture. But apparently no one else did. Take a look at his parents too. His dad refused to take his kids to a doctor for any reason other than near death. Danny never saw a doctor for his severe head traumas. At least until much later when his mom stepped in, but didn't really try very hard. This family is a bit short of all their marbles too. It's an interesting story. It's really the story of the whole family, Danny is just the one who finally burst their bubble.
