I found this to be an okay read, but I would caution Ms. Slater to not make her books always in the same format of 'then and now' or 'before and after' that gets old fast
The story really isn't a new one but yet she wrote it very well for the format she chose
This might be considered kind of a 'horror' too because of the subject matter which could be terrifying
