"December 24. A shabby train depot in a small New Hampshire town. A group of people is stranded there on this still and snowy night, their beautifully wrapped gifts piled uselessly around them. Can this be Christmas?
No hopes and dreams are met tonight as they spend Christmas Eve with strangers instead of the people they love. Anticipated joy becomes disappointment; excitement becomes despair.
Then the depot's elderly reservations clerk brings them a small, leftover tree. Local kids come caroling. Families deliver food for the hungary travelers. And it's beginning to feel like Christmas!
Sharing Christmas cookies and stories and presents, hanging makeshift decorations on the tree, these strangers discover the real magic of Christmas. They open their hearts to each other, and for a few hours they're family.
Chrismtas comes but once a year, a Christmas like this comes once in a lifetime."
