Dream: Discovering God's Purpose for Your Life

If you think this book is about going to sleep, having a dream/nightmare and then in the morning, trying analyze it, you misunderstood this book. Everyone has dreams, plans, ideas for their future. The book is an inspirational teaching of how dreams tie in with purpose and identity and how God, the greatest dreamer of all, is wanting to partner His dreams with ours. The invitation is to move from what God can do FOR me in my dreams to the eternal friendship and legacy established from dreaming WITH God our Father.

The book was triggered by Dutch's own experience with God during a mountain retreat at a place he likened to Mt Moriah.

In his words he reflected "climbing the ladder of success has gradually been replaced by plumbing the depths of His heart. Accomplishments are now measured more by Heaven's approval than by earths applause, and making a name has given way to making a difference."

The purpose of the book is to connect the reader with the dreaming heart of God so that "you'll never be satisfied with the abnormal existence of a non dreamer or the mundane life of an earthbound one. You were created to dream, and doing so in partnership with God is one of His greatest gifts to us."

Dutch illustrates his points with excellent stories and solid Biblical foundation as well as personal touches from his own journey. The end of each, short, chapter has 5-6 questions to review the teaching and how it applies to your own life as a dreamer.

This book is a great foundation or alignment-check to live your dream in relationship with Father God.
