This book starts with an overview of the South Beach Diet plan. While it doesn't contain enough information to replace the first book, it does contain enough to get you started. Overall, if you enjoyed the South Beach Diet, this cook book is very helpful. It is loaded with delicious recipes, but without all of the refined carbs. Recipes are fairly simple (my 12 year old can cook from this book) and very tasty. I have not used all of the recipes as some items are just not available where I live (ie. mahi mahi or fresh tuna) but I can adapt most recipes for thing that are readily available in my community.
