Emma Weston, midwife extraordinare, and Griff Cusak, the town's new doctor, join forces to find out who's stealing newborn babies from the women of Shelter, Kentucky. As the tension heats up, Amy Marcs goes into high gear with Appalachian accents and lots of enthusiasm. Harper has filled this romp through the backwoods with romance, kidnapping and suspense, all ably portrayed by Marcs. Interestingly, only Emma Weston has no accent, despite being born and bred in the back hills of Kentucky.
