Despite the overwhelmingly negative review given by a PBS reader, I gave this book a try and found that just as in all of my previous experiences with Lisa Scottoline books, I couldn't put this one down. The story pace is rapid and the characters so believable that you will want to stand up and cheer for the heroine and give a comforting hug to the little boy whose life has been so disrupted. The information about the court system in regard to an orphaned child was presented in a way that was very enlightening but did not detract from the pace of the story. The twists and turns kept me riveted from the inviting beginning through to the satisfying ending. Five stars and then some! (Actually, after finishing this book and re-reading the previous review, I have my doubts that the reviewer even read "the last five chapters!")
