a f.a. i was working with was reading this and said that it was excellent. i really really really wanted it to be excellent, but honestly, i was a bit disapointed with it.
the three women (jewish, muslim and episcopalian) really didn't have a firm grasp on their religions and though they knew the social aspects of their chosen religion, i think they knew very very little about their actual religion- where it came from, what the rituals means, etc. they also didn't have a firm belief in their religion and were very wishy washy.
i think its great for everyone to question their beliefs, but before you write a novel about your religion- know what you're talking about. it was interesting, and as they learned, i learned. i think it was a good easy read, but not a factual book.
