I am not an expert in romance novels, in fact I only read a few authors.
A modern Jane Austen she is not.
A lot of the terms she uses seem to come from the
"1811 dictionary of the vulgar tongue" more than what one would expect of the gentry.
However Julia Quinn stories are quite pleasant, the dialogs are witty, there is some humor, heroine and heroes are interesting (even if a bit too modern for the time),and the other characters in these novels actually have enough personality to make you want to keep following.
I enjoyed "the Bridgertons"-To Sir Phillip, With Love, being my favorite of the series- and "Lady Whistledown".
I find the sexual scenes repetitive, and similar in most books, but i guess there is only enough you can describe without becoming erotica, they get quite boring so i usually skip them.
