I was so disappointed with the last two books that I wasn't sure I would want to read this one. I just couldn't finish the last two and couldn't get interested. This one though has me rethinking the series and I think I might go back and read the last two again. I actually liked that it was so concentrated on Mercy and Adam (maybe that was why I lost interest in the last two, not sure). I love the addition of other characters and the background on Mercy's father. It was slightly slow to start but once I was at Chapter Three, I was hooked.
My only complaint, which is not new to Briggs because she does this with all her books, is the way she throws God in so much. Not being a Christian, it gets on my nerves a bit but she definitely has toned it down since her first book.
There is also quite a bit of action towards the end and as I mention before it is concentrated a lot of Adam and Mercy, making their relationship work. If you are into really detailed love scenes, you will be disappointed but really I don't think it takes away from the book.
This is a very good and I would recommend it. Also check out her Alpha and Omega series based on Charles and Anna if you haven't. I actually like those more than the Mercy books.
