Gleick does a great job of bringing the cantankerous Newton to life. While the fellow was a nasty piece of work, according to Gleick, he was definitely brilliant and certainly one of the most important scientists ever. Gleick does tend to shift from story telling to research piece (complete with many pages of references) but overall, the story comes through.
