This wasn't as unique as some other tales I've read along the same subject, but it was good. Eve is an orphan and has been living in a dormitory school filled with girls who are skilled and trained for their futures. There had been a plague that wiped out loads of the US, and her mother died from it. Now there is a New America and a king that rules them. He is the only man that they are to trust. Eve is at the top of her class and is about to graduate as valedictorian. However, after seeing Arden, a girl who has kept to herself for a long time ends up escaping (talking to Eve last), her eyes have been opened up to seeing that there is a bigger picture than she realized to her schooling.
This is a love story as well. It was a good intro book and I look forward to the second book which will probably be much better.
