I enjoyed every minute of reading this book. You know as much as Inspector Barnaby, and it was great fun - all the way to the very end - trying to figure out who the killer is.

Simone Hollingsworth is by all appearances a bored, spoiled housewife. She joins different groups in the village, but never sticks around long. One day she disappears. Her distraught husband Alan is seen to drown his sorrow in alcohol, and behaves very strangely. Then, a few days later, he is found dead. Other well-drawn characters (and suspects) are the girl next door who has had a crush on Alan for a long time. Then there is the artist who was supposed to meet Simone on the day of her disappearance. And Alan's ex-partner in business, whom Alan cheated out of his fair share of the profits.

A great read!
