Three different sub-plots going on here, and they keep Kinsey occupied. None of them pay her so it's good she has that extra money. It's interesting that Pete Wolinsky gets rehabilitated in a sense. And there was not as big a sense of danger this time, although of course there's the obligatory scene where Kinsey almost dies. There's only one book to go in the series - I know it's been out for years now but I have not read the teaser for it so I don't know, but I hope Grafton wraps up that bit. Hard to think of that subplot just sitting out there and knowing it will never be resolved.
BTW (and this is not a spoiler, anyone who can read ought to know what's going on as soon as it pops up) the neighbors couldn't have done what they did without shutting off Henry's water. You'd think he would have noticed.
