I would give this book a higher rating if it were easier to read. But it's worth reading if you're interested in finding out how the U.S. got to where it is economically. I strongly suggest reading the Forward and Introduction. It will give you more of an understanding of what the book is about. The author, Kevin Phillips, is renowned as a conservative Republican but in this book he presents a sweeping indictment of Reaganomics and all the problem it has brought to the U.S. This makes his book more believable to me since he's gone well beyond following the party line.
