I read her 1st book years ago "Stolen Lives" and was fascinated although appalled at the conditions with which she and her siblings had to survive. I was interested in this book to find out how she is today.... This new book reveals a life with a nice husband, yet she is tormented with demons of the past 20 yrs. lost and her attempt to catch up....
I have a friend who was in the Peace corps in Morocco in the 80s and says she knew her and her "sister" when they were both "princesses" and riding horses at the palace.. My friend still after 30 yrs. resides in Meknes, and conducts desert and mt. tours with an american trekking company...
My hat off to Malika, to her strength to survive her ordeal in prison and my hopes that her life now in the security of her husband's arms and her life as a mother will erase all the mental anguish she experienced in her youth.
