Whether you have read any of de Rosnay's previous books, or not, this will not disappoint. It is a wonderful story that gets deep into the heart of complex family relationships. It begins with a Birthday visit for Melanie (sister) planned by Antoine (brother) to a seaside resort where they had spent their childhood summers before their Mother died.
During that weekend, the past collides with the present as they seek to learn more about their Mother and how she died. I loved the book. The characters are sympathetic, likeable, flawed but real. I could not put it down.
