I was drawn to this book because of it's setting in 1961. It is a bittersweet tale with wonderful characters. The story is told from the perspective of 9 year old Button, a sweet, shy, scared little girl. She and those she loves are all changed by a fiery, adventurous little girl and her family. Enjoyable read.
