Katie Wilkinson has found her perfect man at last - everything she ever imagined in a partner. But one day, without explanation, he disappears from her life, leaving only a diary for her to read. The diary is a love letter written by a new mother for her baby son, Nicholas. In it she tells the child how she met his father and how much joy the baby and his father have brought to her life. I soon becomes apparant to Katie that the love of her life is the father and husband in the diary.
