I am disgusted that this book became so popular.

I wasnt disgusted by the sex scenes nearly as much as I was annoyed with the relationship between the two main characters, Ana and Christian. I felt like the book idolized a very unhealthy relationship between the characters. Their relationship was immature and lacked the qualities of a healthy connection. Maybe I am a bit biased due to the fact that I was a psychology major in college, but I was bothered by their constant back and forth bickering. The controlling aspect that Christian had over Ana worried me that some people may think this kind of dating situation is healthy. There are already so many broken marriages due to people not knowing how to work together or treat one another, so we dont need a book to glorify such an unstable relationship. The book just made it seem like this is okay and the way that a relationship should be.

I was also annoyed by the writing style the author used. The repetition got old fast!!

The story line was so unbelievable that I laughed at how pathetic it was.

Im not sure why I forced myself to finish it. Whats worse is that I have read the second book in the trilogy and am currently reading the third one, but its not because Im enjoying the books. I was just curious to see what the hype was about and honestly Im still not sure after having read 2/3 of the trilogy. My inner goddess will be angry with me if I ever read another book by this author.
