Mrs. Edith Bing is asking for Private Investigator Frank Malloy's help in obtaining a divorce. But that would require Frank to manufacture evidence against her husband which he refuses to do. Within a few days, Frank reads that Mr. Bing was killed when an automobile ran over him late at night. Edith Bing asks for his help again...this time she wants Frank to find out who killed her husband since the police believe she may have been the driver of the vehicle.

The latest Gaslight Mystery is a well-researched historical mystery with lots of twists and turns. Frank, his wife Sarah, along with Gino Donatelli and Maeve Smith, interviewed witnesses and suspects numerous times. They even got help from Mother Malloy. It was easy to figure out that everyone hated Mr. Bing and the reason why became apparent to me early in the story. Figuring out exactly who killed him kept me guessing (and changing my mind) throughout the book. My rating: 4 Stars.
