The book is in 4 parts. In each part it tends to flip back and forth with the characters, but he writes in a way that you can't be confused. So anyway the main part of the book centers around a fictional school shooting in 1988 in North Vancouver, Canada. The main character, Cheryl, one of the victims recounts the events that led up to the shooting.
Part 2 takes place in 1999 and is told by Cheryl's husband, Jason. Jason recounts the events that took place between he & sheryl before the massacre, afterward the massacre. He also talks about his relationship with his parents & brother. Trust me this is a scrwed up family.
Part 3 takes place in 2002 and is told by Heather. Heather was Jason's present girlfriend. She describes their relationship with him up until he simply disappears.
Part 4 is told by Reg, Jason's estranged father who sold out his own son and now feels guilty about it because his family has desserted him.
It's a good book and I really loved it, but it does not begin or end well for any of the characters inside.
