This was a good read. It kept my interest, seldom got boring and there was no abundance of filler. Though it was never stated anywhere, I suspect this book is the beginning of Nathan Brazil (Midnight at the Well of Souls) and the books that follow in that series. I recommend it and particularly for those that like reading Jack L Chalker!
