This is really a book for those who are already vegetarian or vegan or are considering it. It has a nice summary of the reasons for being vegan and some tips for navigating the world as a vegan.
It does generally assume that the only valid reason for veganism is animal rights (I personally tend to take a more moderate view on this). However, in general, it's gentle and encourages a cooperative approach to the world rather than "in your face" PETA tactics.
It was also a nice quick read - I read it on an airplane flight and was pretty much able to finish it in a couple of hours. Nice for those of us who have no time!
