Ok, the Email (from the title) is a bit of a stretch, this book is a sort of crossbreed biography of Louisa May Alcott and a bit of memoir of Kit Bakke, a one-time member of a 1970's era radical political rights movement. Anyways, it is an interesting read about Louisa May's upbringing, famous neighbors, and lifestyle in Victorian-era America.
