The characters felt very 2-D. They didn't leap off the paper or feel very emotional the way Evangeline Anderson has made me feel about other characters in her stories. Even towards each other the sexual build up was stunted somehow.
I liked the idea of the Lepids [aliens with wings like butterflies]. But the futuristic world was rather dull and bleak. I rated it because I love EA's writing and did enjoy the story.
