Help Center - I can't mark my book mailed!

Search Terms:

First, make sure you are on the My Account main page, which is where all active transactions in your account will appear.  Books to be marked mailed will be on the "Books to mail" tab on your My Account main page.  A direct link to that page is here.

If you are on your My Account main page and still can't mark your book mailed, please read the information below:

If you cannot mark your book mailed because the "Book Has Been Mailed" button doesn't work, this means that you have not accessed the address information to send this shipment.

  • Until the address information has been accessed from a transaction, the Book Has Been Mailed button is "greyed out" and unclickable.

  • When the address information has been accessed, the text on the Print wrapper button turns green, and the Book Has Been Mailed button text becomes black and that button clickable. 

  • If you have mailed your book without accessing the address information, you have probably mailed it to the wrong requestor.

  •  If this is the case, you should contact the member you DID send the book to, in order to straighten this out.  Please see I sent a book to the wrong person! for more information.

If this is a bulk (multiple-book) request:

  • It is possible that the requestor added one or more books to the order after you printed the wrapper for the request.
  • If the requestor does that (and you printed before more books were added--but did not print with postage) you need to reprint to include all the books in the order.  This adjusts the recommended postage on the wrapper, and applies the DC barcode (if you have used PBS DC) to all the books in the order.
    • If you printed the wrapper for the first lot of books with printed postage, you will have to send the additional books separately, and these will NOT appear as a bulk request on your My Account page.  This is because the first wrapper may not have enough postage on it for the whole shipment after additional books were added.

If you cannot mark your book mailed because the transaction has disappeared from your account page, you have either (1) failed to mark your book mailed before the deadline, or (2) the requestor canceled before you accessed the address information from the transaction or (3) you canceled this request yourself (perhaps in error).
